Did I Mention?

John 6:63It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

Good Morning!

I must say, that coming to the Word of God every morning for these many years has been a balm to my soul, a help to my life and a joy and rejoicing at times when I needed to be brought out of a deep, dark valley.

It has exposed what my flesh has failed to do. It has shown me my failures, my shortcomings and my sin. It has shed light on the path I needed to take and has led me back to the Savior when I strayed. It has torn away the veil that sin placed upon my heart and my eyes. It has lifted the fog of indecision. It has made clear the decisions that lay before me.

It has drawn me away from sin’s lure. The Word of God has become so very precious to me that it comes to mind at times to help those in need. Hiding it in my heart has allowed me to draw from a well that now is deep with truth that the precious Holy Spirit can reveal at just the right moment.

Submitting to its commands has given my life protection by the Father that can only be seen from the side of obedience. The wilfull choices I make that cause me to leave His will can be traced back to the time I departed from simply obeying that which the Word of God said all along.

The Word of God. My Father’s love letter to me. The life script for the Christian. The answer to every question man could ever ask. The greatest book of science, math, literature and philosophy. The greatest guide to forming governments, leadership and servitude.

Trusting the very Word of God has brought light to my soul, peace to my mind and salvation eternal. I am secure in it’s promises and protected eternally till I am called to that promised land beyond the sky.

One day, my ears will hear these words directly from His mouth. I will be able to see in Heaven all that has been promised. I will have hope fulfilled, faith become sight and love realized in the person of Jesus Christ.

Kyla Rowland wrote a song “Did I Mention” whose words expresses this feeling about God’s Word:

David sang the praises of the glory of Jehovah
Paul preached that all is lost save knowing Christ
Little John said he is precious by leaning on his bosom
So for a moment may I humbly testify.

Chorus

Did I mention that I love him, how I worship and adore him?
When I can see no way he makes a way
And did I mention he’s been faithful to every promise he ever made me?
I love him that’s all I want to say.

How many sermons can be preached about this Jesus?
How many songs can be sung about God’s Son?
There are not enough words enough notes in the music
To tell the story of all the Savior has done.

Did I mention that I love him, how I worship and adore him?
When I can see no way he makes a way
And did I mention he’s been faithful to every promise he ever made me?
I love him that’s all I want to say.

Did I mention he’s been faithful to every promise he ever made me?
I love him that’s all I want to say.
I love him that’s all I want to say
