Sunday Soothings

Psalm 51:2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.”

“Before a priest could enter thee Holy of Holies, he had to stop by the basin and wash from head to toe, but there was no floor in the tabernacle, only dirt. There were also no utensils, so his hands became dirty.

The final preparation before he entered God’s presence was the washing away of the defilement of this world by the washing of his hands. As you and I come in contact with the world, we are going to become defiled. We don’t need to bathe all over. We are already saved.

But, each day we must ask God to search our hearts and cleanse us from our sins. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if each of us came into the presence of God as seriously as the Old Testament priests? We should!

Have you been to the basin this morning? If not, bow before Him right now. Make Psalm 139: 23-24 you prayer. He is waiting to forgive you.”

Taken from “DAYBREAK Practicing the Presence of God” by Adrian Rogers

Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
