Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
Consider yourself provoked.
Today is Sunday here in the Central Time Zone. It is also the Lord’s Day. It is a day we, the church, set aside to gather to fellowship, worship, pray, and preach. It is a day when the body gathers to be edified, discipled, and celebrate the week’s victories.
We ought to rejoice over the victories won, the battles fought, and pray for those in need. We ought to encourage one another, comfort one another, and bear one another burdens.
It is a time to sing songs that will lift our spirit to praise and worship, but not be what’s worshipped.
It should be a day prepared for with a humbling dedication and submission.
Humbling to search our hearts for anything that stands in the way of God speaking to our hearts.
Dedication and submission when we say we will do whatever the Lord speaks to our hearts about and follow through.
COVID has devastated our churches with those who still stay at home, more fearful of a virus than their obedience to God. Watching church online is not the same as being in person.
Our enemy has found a way to further divide the churches by keeping apart that which makes us strong. The Word of God has more power when you are in the presence of those presenting it.
Ephesians 4:11-12 “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ“
If not for the perfecting, undoubtedly for the work needing to be done.
Take some time to prepare your heart for the services you’ll attend today. Ask God to speak to you personally. When He does, thank Him for His wondrous love and attention to even you!
