Here is a biblical way to find the answer to the question:
Will I go to Heaven when I die or will I go to Hell?
Before you read, would you pray and ask God to reveal the truth to your heart? This is not a denominational, religious way, it is the Bible way; God’s way. Allow Him to show you what is true.
The Bible is God’s Word and worthy of our trust. If what is contained within is false – we have no hope of anything beyond this life. But, because it is true, we can place our complete faith in what is written about us and our eternal destiny.
First, we must realize our sinful condition.
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
That little threee letter word “all” is all-inclusive; no one is left out. We are ALL sinners. But the most important thing to realize is this:
‘Is the person you look at in the mirror guilty of such a claim; are YOU a sinner?’
Admitting to such puts you in agreement with God.
Secondly, that sin or sins we have committed have a punishment and a price attached to it.
Romans 6:23a “For the wages of sin is death…”
God first gave the concept of justice because He is the perfect judge. He demands that all sin must be paid for and He sets the punishment as death. The death He speaks of is not life leaving our physical body, but an actual separation of our eternal soul from God in a place called Hell.
Then, at the end of all time, there is a final judgment called the Great White throne judgment.
Revelation 20:11-15 “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Revelation 21:8 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
We may not be able to associate with many listed there, but, we can all admit to a lie or two. We may wink at this, but God doesn’t. One single lie deserves punishment in the lake of fire – forever.
This is inescapable.
But there is a way out! Jesus said:
John 3:16-18 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
God loves YOU – sins and all.
God the Father sent Jesus Christ, His Son, to fully and completely pay for sin. Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection paid fully and satisfied the Father’s justice for the payment for sin. He then, offers it to us as a free gift.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Free means already paid for in full at no cost to the one receiving it.
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Gift means the recipient must accept and open the gift offered. Knowing you have a gift awaiting you is one thing. Opening it and receiving it is quite another.
John 1:12 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
Lastly, trust Jesus Christ as your Saviour. He IS the Son of God. He is worthy of your trust. He can, and will save anyone that comes to Him in faith.
John 6:37 “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
Trust God’s Word. Call on Him to save you.
Romans 10:9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
“Whosoever” is a wonderful word. Anyone and everyone is included in ‘whosoever’.
Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Simply:
- Admit your sinful condition.
- Realize we deserve the punishment and payment for our sin in a place called Hell.
- See Jesus as your only Saviour to pay for your sins and take you to Heaven when you die.
- Trust God by faith and receive Jesus’ payment for sin as your own.
You may want to pray a prayer such as this:
“Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I know and accept that the punishment for my sins means I will go to a place called Hell forever. I know that You died on the cross and paid for my sins. I receive You now, Jesus, as my Lord and Savior and trust you by faith to pay for my sins and take me to Heaven when I die.
Thank you for saving me Jesus. Amen”
The salvation Jesus offers is forever.
John 10:27-29 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.”
If you prayed this prayer or one like it, I would like to hear from you.
