Psalm 18:2-3 “The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.”
The praise due our Lord and Savior can never be enough. To muse and meditate on all that we have been given can overwhelm our soul.
Praise is never easy to those so full of self. Self-pity, self-loathing, depression, feelings of unworthiness, and being around those who enforce those feelings will keep us in bondage.
Praise allows us to focus on the object.
Parents should praise their children more than correct.
Proverbs 29:1 “He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.”
Take time in the day today to praise God.
Praise Him for salvation, provision, protection, power, wisdom, understanding, and so much more.
When we focus on someone other than ourselves, we begin to gain perspective. Focusing on God allows us to see our place and purpose.
Praise God for the Word of God that saves us, comforts us, and corrects us.
Psalm 22:22 “I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.”
